The Grand Tour of Georgian Ireland
The Georgian Period is known as a time of great change, politically and socially. In Ireland, the Georgian Period saw rebellions and political upheaval. However, it also saw great changes in the style of architecture of both public and private buildings. Many of the aristocracy were joining the Grand Tour in Europe, and as a result the classic architecture of Rome and Greece began to influence architects both in Britain and Ireland. Homes were no longer merely for function, but buildings of beauty to be enjoyed as they were lavishly decorated.  This was a time of sumptuous pleasures and playful architecture, as well as bountiful banquets and social etiquette.
For 7 days we will transport you back in time to Georgian Ireland, visit plush town and country houses, and see stunning architecture and gardens.  Stay in luxurious hotels, learn to cook your own Georgian meal, and enjoy a genuine Georgian banquet.
